SEC adopts rules on new whistleblower provision under Dodd-Frank law

The blog of the Legal Times newspaper reported on May 25 that the Securities Exchange Commission adopted rules to implement the whistleblower provision (Section 922) of last year’s Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. According to the newspaper, the SEC was split, and declined to require whistleblowers to first report their allegations to internal corporate compliance programs.
